Policies and Procedures

We wish to provide our clients with professional therapeutic massages. The following policies are the guidelines for first-time and returning massage clients of Curationis Massage Clinic.

At Curationis, we understand that hectic schedules and unforeseen circumstances occur in everyone’s life. Events such as last-minute meetings, project deadlines, and traffic conditions are just a few reasons why one might need to consider canceling a massage appointment.

In order to provide a healing and outstanding massage experience to our clients and out of consideration for our therapists’ time, we have adopted the following policies:

Late Arrivals

We understand that traffic, work, and other delays occur. It helps a great deal if you call and let us know if you are running late. We will do our best to accommodate you.

We generally can work within a 5-minute delay. However, if time runs over 5 minutes or more, we will likely have to shorten your session by that amount of time. Full price will be charged for the actual scheduled time.

In return, we will make sure we are on time. If for some reason we are not, we will give you the time back or adjust the price of the session.

Informed Consent and Confidentiality

Prior to each massage session, the treatment plan will be discussed with you. At your first visit with us you will be asked to sign the Treatment Consent Form stating that you have read the information and understand and agree to comply with Curationis’ policies and procedures. Clients who have not visited the clinic for at least a year may again be asked to fill out this form to ensure we have your current medical status and information. We treat all of our clients’ visits and medical/personal information as highly confidential. We will not discuss your session with anyone outside of our staff without your express permission.

Arrival At The Office

Please arrive at least 10 minutes ahead of your scheduled appointment (15 minutes for your first appointment). This allows time to fill out a short intake from.

Giving yourself a little bit of extra time also allows your body and mind to start to transition from an active busy mode to a more relaxed receiving mode, thereby enhancing your massage experience.

Our policy is that the length of your appointment is the amount of hands-on time you will receive. If you are seeing us for a specific pain complaint or sports performance issue, we will perform a detailed assessment to design the most effective treatment plan for you. Consequently, your first hands-on session may be decreased slightly to accommodate this assessment.

Existing and New Medical Conditions

It is the responsibility of the client to keep the therapist informed of any medical treatment or prescriptions he/she is currently undergoing and to provide written permission from a physician, chiropractor, physical therapist, etc., that massage may be received.
